From the antenna set-up you would correctly guess that one of the main interests is 50 MHz. A 50 MHz DXCC certificate (No. 517) was obtained during 2002, which matches the one obtained using the call G3SDL (No. 231). 1.8 MHz DXCC certificates are also held for 1.8 MHz with the calls EI3IO and G3SDL. In addition to 1.8 and 50 MHz EI3IO has been active on all bands from 1.8 MHz to 144 MHz bands. EI3IO also holds ARRL 5BDXCC certificate and plaque (No. 6407) with endorsements for 1.8, 10 and 50 MHz.
The main equipment is a FT-1000 TX/RX of 1992 vintage, used sometimes with a FTV901 transverter for 50 MHz. However of late the main 50 MHz TX/RX used is the Kenwood TS60. An FT-902DM with Microwave Modules transverter is used on 70MHz. The shack is also equipped with various amplifiers for the HF and VHF bands. A recent acquisition in March 2009 was an Elecraft K3 transceiver.
